Greeting cardsSituated in Northern KwaZulu-Natal you find the small town of Ingwavuma, situated on the border between Mozambique and Swaziland. Here you will find at any one time up to 500 Zulu women making hand embroidered cards, these cards can be used for birthdays, weddings, special events, invitations and Christmas, and much more. The cards are made from recycled paper, with the hand embroidered artwork attached on to the card. Each card tells its own story by the women, usually the story is about their lifes, how they live, the animals on the property, or their children playing in the fields or walking school. Sometimes the story will recount an African theme showing the different animals in the African Kingdom or the skyline. Each card is signed by the woman who produced the card, and in many cases the receiver of the card frames the card and embroidery piece which allows thememory to last for reasonthe card in the first place. These framed pieces make beautiful wall art for any home or office. Each card is made with loads of love, with an appreciation to the environment and the eco-friendly attitude is uplifted by all the women, who are not just committed to making a better lives for themselves, their family and their community, but to the upliftment of the Country and the landscape which makes KwaZulu-Natal Zululand one of the most beautiful places in the world. - Christmas cards
