Social Media Implementation

Social media is part of Search Engine Marketing today. Not only will your human customers look for fresh copy on Twitter, Facebook, their favorite blogs and other social sites, but so do search engines. Content on social sites affects your search engine visibility – your Twitter post just might put you in the top organic listings for a certain keyword. This means that your sites need to be both search and social media friendly.

Tangerine Social Media Management Tips

1. Fresh Updated Content is a Must

Social media users have the ability to do searches in real time – as in what’s happening right now. That means if your copy is old, then you’re old news. This doesn’t mean, however, that you should willy-nilly post like a demon. Know your social strategy and how it fits into your company mission, and make your posting decisions based on those master ideas. Inform, delight, and entertain, as you for “social bonds” through the content you post.

2. Don’t Ignore the Social in Social Media

Social media is about relationships – relationships you form with your followers and relationships with those you follow. And like any other relationship, it’s two way. You can’t just talk you have to listen and interact. Your need a real person responding to posts about your company.

3. Social Media is Long Term

You could post on any social media site you feel like posting on. Or, if you want to be more effective, take the time to find out where your peeps are – those people who are interested in your industry, products and services – and then post on those sites. Once you decide where to post, stick with it. Let’s face it, no one likes a person who drops into a conversation, says something about themselves, and then leaves. So, stay awhile, form relationships, and through your posts people will learn what you (your company) has to offer.

Implementing and Managing Social Media can be daunting, particularly when you don’t know where to begin. Tangerine will help you form a long term social media strategy to boost your customer relationships and improve  your search engine visibility.
